Dataslayer overview
Dataslayer is an affordable ETL tool built PPC marketers. It has garnered impressive overall satisfaction scores (4.8/5 on G2). While offering marketing data integrations, its API query manager and BigQuery integrations also serve developers’ needs.
Who Dataslayer is not for?
Data-driven marketing teams and agencies, especially in the advertising (PPC) space. Some of the integrations that make Dataslayer stand our are programmatic advertising data sources such as Google Campaign Manager, Google Display & Video 360 (DV360), Criteo, Apple Search Ads.
Dataslayer is also built for development and data teams as they offer data warehouses, databases and APIs as destinations, and integrations such as MariaDB, MySQL, and PosgresSQL.
Reasons to seek Dataslayer alternatives
You may look for Dataslayer alternatives if:
- You prefer a predictable, flat pricing model instead of their usage-based pricing which can become unpredictable and expensive.
- You require greater speed and stability that Dataslayer lacks due to no built-in data warehousing or storage.
- You seek either a simpler plug-and-play reporting tool or a more flexible solution for developers.
The lack of predictable pricing, built-in storage for performance, and the need for simplicity or greater flexibility are potential reasons to explore alternatives to Dataslayer.
Some Dataslayer alternatives for marketing reporting automation include: Porter Metrics, Supermetrics, Funnel, Windsor AI, Power My Analytics, AgencyAnalytics, and Polar Analytics.

Dataslayer positive reviews
Easy authorization: Dataslayer offers authorization links that enable marketers to access client data without requiring client logins on Dataslayer. This eases permissions management for large agencies.
“It is easy to use, has all of the functionality needed for all key ad platforms such as facebook and google, and is a fraction of the cost of Supermetrics. You can get started in just a few minutes- very easy implementation. I use it daily!”
“From moment zero, I want to say that the attention is impeccable…the personalized attention is another level, super attentive to you and with the attention to specific doubts it is phenomenal…”
It is priced very reasonably and a lot less than the other data connector we were using previously, but much more user friendly.

Dataslayer negative reviews
“At times, the integration with Google Chrome caused some system slowdowns which hurt productivity…”
Kathy A., Director of Brand Marketing, Small-Business, Jul 11, 2023, G2
The API calls limit, I still don’t know which plan suits my agency needs the best, cause some days I use 300 API calls some days its 2000.
Fadoua H., Mid-Market, Oct 11, 2023
“- Not their fault, but each API call still depends on how fast the platform from which the data is being pulled from is. Hopefully, one day, they will implement a localized storage of the data from which the connectors would actually pull the data from. This will increase the price though so we’ll see…..”
The data sometimes differs from the data I had from the platforms themselves, also it sometimes adds a row, week 52, where I do not know where they are pulling the stats from, since week 52 was not included or happened yet. So u do have to check for accuracy.
