FAQs

A CMO report should include breaking down metrics by visibility, engagement, and conversion metrics, segmenting data by campaign, channel, audience, content, objective, and date. For example, providing the number of impressions, click-through rates, and conversion rates for each campaign, channel, and content piece allows for a thorough analysis of performance and optimization opportunities. Additionally, segmenting data by audience and objectives helps identify target audience preferences and successful strategies.
To analyze data for a CMO report, follow these steps: 1) Choose metrics such as website visibility (page views, unique visitors), engagement (average time on page, social media interactions), and conversion (conversion rate, sales revenue). 2) Add context by comparing metrics to cost (e.g., cost per click), date range (month-over-month or year-over-year comparisons), goals (targeted benchmarks), rates (bounce rate, click-through rate), and benchmarks for the industry. 3) Segment data by campaign (e.g., email campaign, social media campaign), channel (website, social media platforms), audience (demographics, interests), content (blog posts, videos), objective (awareness, lead generation), and date (specific time period). Examples: Compare the engagement rate of a Facebook campaign in March 2022 to the cost per click benchmark for the industry during the same period. Segment the conversion data of a specific email campaign by audience demographics and compare the conversion rates among different age groups.
To build a CMO dashboard, 1) connect your data and accounts such as Google Analytics, social media platforms, and CRM. 2) Select the metrics to monitor performance like website traffic, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs. 3) Segment or break down data by campaign, channel, audience, product, customer content, objective, date. For example, you can segment data by a specific marketing campaign or a particular product. 4) Add filters or buttons to make your report interactive, such as a filter to view data from a specific time period. 5) Share your dashboard via PDF, scheduled emails, or links to relevant stakeholders.
