FAQs

A marketing automation report should include breaking down metrics by visibility, engagement, and conversion metrics. It should also segment data by campaign, channel, audience, content, objective, and date. For example, visibility metrics such as impressions and reach can be analyzed per campaign to measure its effectiveness. Engagement metrics like click-through rate and time spent can be segmented by channel to identify the most successful ones. Conversion metrics such as conversion rate and revenue can be evaluated by audience and date to understand the impact of different targeting strategies and timeframes.
To analyze marketing automation data, first choose metrics such as website traffic (visibility), click-through rates (engagement), and conversion rates (conversion). Break down these metrics by visibility (e.g., impressions, reach), engagement (e.g., time on page, bounce rate), and conversion (e.g., lead generation, sales). Next, add context by comparing the metrics against costs (e.g., ad spend), date range (e.g., month-over-month), goals (e.g., targeted impressions), industry rates (e.g., average CTR), and benchmarks. Segment the data by campaign (e.g., email, social media), channel (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook), audience (e.g., demographics), content (e.g., blog posts, videos), objective (e.g., brand awareness, lead nurturing), and date. For example, analyze the click-through rates of an email campaign targeted at a specific audience segment and compare it with industry benchmarks to identify areas for improvement. Remember to be succinct and avoid mentioning the benefits of these elements.
