Run Meta Ads end to end from Claude or ChatGPT

Ad management

  • Campaigns: create, update, duplicate, in bulk. Unify naming conventions. Advantage+ included.
  • Creatives: sync from Drive, upload statics, upload video. Carousel, Reels, dynamic creative.
  • Audiences and placements: custom lists, lookalikes, engagement, interests. Reach estimates before launch. Facebook vs Instagram, Feed vs Stories vs Reels.
  • Budgets: pace against target, shift between ad sets, scale winners. Plan shown before it applies.
  • Multi-account and cross-channel: every ad account you can access. Google, TikTok, LinkedIn Ads too.

Reporting and attribution

  • 1,000+ fields: Meta Ads fields, conversion windows, and calculated metrics Porter exposes through the API. ROAS, CTR, CPA, CAC, custom conversions.
  • Live dashboards: your fields, your branding, one link. Data refreshes from the API when the dashboard loads or updates.
  • Creative analytics: hook rate and hold rate, with the thumbnail. We also watch the video: hooks, angles, actors, on-screen text.
  • Audits: account structure, naming, budgets, creatives, tracking. What to fix, ranked.
  • Alerts and schedules: CPA and CAC above your cap. Fatigue by rising frequency. Active ads that never ran. Weekly reports, by email or Slack.
  • Tracking and attribution: every conversion window. Server-side tracking through the Conversions API (CAPI). Meta blended with GA4 and your CRM in BigQuery, mapped to actual revenue, not in-platform conversions.

Creative research

  • Any advertiser’s Ad Library: live and historical ads. Any brand, any industry, any country. No account needed.
  • Launch timeline: how many ads they run, when each went up, which ones they stopped.
  • Longevity as the signal: the creative still running after 90 days.
  • Tracked 24/7: an alert the moment a competitor puts something live.
  • Their creative, read like yours: hook, hold, angle, concept, offer, read the same way as your own ads.
  • Their setup: formats, UTMs, naming conventions, landing pages.

Creative generation

  • Claude cannot make images or video: connected, it can. The asset lands in the ad, not in a download folder.
  • The models are included: image, video, audio, without a second subscription to pay for.
  • Image: statics from a prompt. Iterate until it works.
  • Video: from a prompt, or from a creative you already have.
  • Audio: voiceover, in the same conversation.
  • Copy: headlines, primary text, descriptions. Variants from one angle.

What a Meta Ads MCP session looks like

A good MCP page should show the answer you get, not only the connection steps. Porter turns Meta Ads prompts into reports, diagnosis, creative briefs, and draft actions you can approve.

Performance output

Ask Claude or ChatGPT for a Meta Ads report and Porter returns the numbers, the change, and the next action in the same answer.

Creative and action output

For creative work, Porter can inspect video ads, find the hook problem, and prepare paused drafts instead of applying changes blindly.

Finding: Frequency is rising while CTR is falling on two winning ads.
Creative read: The hook works, but the first frame no longer stops the scroll.
Recommended action: Create three paused variants with new first frames and keep the winning audience unchanged.
Checkpoint: Budget and write actions wait for approval before anything goes live.

Setup videos stay inside the Claude and ChatGPT install tabs above, so tutorials support the exact setup path instead of becoming a separate content block.

Security and trust

Safety and security

Start read-only, keep write actions in draft, and approve budget-sensitive changes before they run. Porter separates reporting, research, drafting, and spend-changing actions so an AI assistant never has to touch more than the task requires.

If the risk question is the blocker, read Meta Ads MCP ban: what actually disables an account in 2026.

Read-only first

Read-only first: analyze campaigns, ads, budgets, creatives, and performance without writing back to Meta Ads. Reporting can stay separate from campaign management, so analysis does not affect the account.

Unlimited reporting queries

Unlimited reporting queries: ask as many reporting questions as you need. Porter manages Meta API limits behind the scenes, with guardrails built for large ad accounts and high-volume reporting.

Approved Meta login

Approved Meta login: connect with your Facebook profile through Porter’s approved Meta app. You do not expose developer tokens, paste API keys, or create a custom developer app.

Competitor research stays outside your ad account

Competitor research: analyze advertisers, creatives, and videos from external or public sources. Research workflows do not require changing anything in your Meta Ads account.

Draft mode by default

Draft mode by default: write actions start as drafts, so campaigns, ads, and creative changes do not go live before review. Make approval explicit before anything reaches a live account.

Budget guardrails

Budget guardrails: Porter checks budget-sensitive actions and asks for validation before changes run. Spend changes get a separate checkpoint because a wrong budget is a different risk than a wrong report.

Official API, no browser automation

Official API: Porter works through Meta’s official Marketing API, not browser automation. Actions stay tied to API permissions instead of a browser session.

Revoke access anytime

Revoke access: disconnect Porter whenever you want from your account connection settings. Access stays tied to your approved Meta connection, not a token sitting in a local file.

Meta Ads skills

Meta Ads skills

Porter Meta Ads skills are operational, not educational. Each skill turns live account data into a report, diagnosis, research output, recommendation, alert, or draft.

Reporting skills

Connection test

List every ad account I can access, then show spend, ROAS, CPA, and CTR for the last 7 days by campaign.
Read-only

CPA diagnostics

Find campaigns with rising CPA over the last 14 days. Explain the likely cause by spend, CTR, conversion rate, frequency, and landing page drop-off.

Creative fatigue scanner

Find active ads where frequency is rising, CTR is falling, and CPA is increasing. Group them by campaign and recommend which creatives need replacement first.

Audience overlap detector

Find ad sets that may be competing with each other. Compare audience, objective, placement, spend, CPA, and frequency, then recommend what to consolidate.
Read-only

Weekly report

Create a weekly Meta Ads report in plain English: what changed, what worked, what got worse, and what to do next.

Research skills

Advertiser research

Show me Notion’s live ads: hooks, formats, angles, landing pages, and how long each ad has been running.

Video analysis

Analyze my top 10 video ads by spend. Extract the hook, angle, first frame, CTA, hold rate, and likely reason each one won or lost.

Creative angles

Generate 10 new ad angles from the winning creatives, grouped by hook, offer, audience, and format.

Automation skills

Budget optimizer

Compare campaigns by spend, CPA, ROAS, and recent trend. Suggest where to move budget, but do not apply changes until I approve.

Campaign QA agent

Audit this campaign before launch. Check naming, objective, tracking, budget, audience, exclusions, placements, creative, and landing page match.

Creative testing

Generate 10 new ad angles from the winning creatives, then turn the best 3 into paused draft ads for review.

Alert agent

Watch active campaigns for CPA spikes, ROAS drops, rising frequency, and spend without conversions. Send a plain-English alert when something needs review.
Who this is for

Who this is for

Marketing teams who build, not just report.

Agencies and freelancers

  • Multi-account reporting: one answer across every client, instead of six logins and a spreadsheet.
  • Client executive reports: the client opens it on Monday and you never rebuilt it.
  • Account audits: the QBR opens with what to fix, not with what happened.
  • Bulk campaign work: one instruction moves twelve accounts, so a launch stops costing a day.

In-house marketers

  • Cross-channel reporting: Meta next to Google, TikTok, LinkedIn and 30 more sources. Nobody stitches four exports.
  • Executive reports: one link, already current when leadership opens it.
  • Attribution: the revenue that reached your CRM, not the conversions Meta counted for itself.
  • Creative analytics: you find out why the ad was expensive, not only that it was.

Creative strategists

  • Creative analytics: hook rate and hold rate beside the thumbnail, so the number points at a frame.
  • Video analysis: the hook, the angle, the actor read off the video, without watching forty of them.
  • Competitor research: you hear about their new ad the day it launches, not in next quarter’s teardown.
  • Creative generation: the variant exists before the idea goes cold, and it arrives as a draft.

Analysts

  • Field-level access: every field, every conversion window Meta exposes, so the number survives the argument.
  • Tracking checks: you catch the broken pixel before the report goes out on top of it.
  • Warehouse destinations: the data lands in BigQuery, not in a screenshot.
  • Alerts: the spike finds you, instead of you finding it a week late.

If Meta’s own connector says your account is not enabled

Meta’s connector answers: “This ad account is not enabled for the Ads MCP. Ads MCP is being gradually rolled out across ad accounts. Please check back at a later date.”

  • Nothing is wrong with your account. is_ads_mcp_enabled: false is a flag on Meta’s side, and Meta says as much in its own developer blog: access to the tools is “gradually rolling out” across ad accounts.
  • It is not about permissions, spend, or standing. An advertiser posted on Meta’s developer forum about three ad accounts inside one Business Portfolio, same admin with full control, all active and in good standing. One was enabled. Two were not.
  • You find out late. Sign-in succeeds for everyone and your accounts list normally. Only when you ask a question does one of them come back empty.
  • There is no way to request it. No setting, no form, no support path. The account in that thread was switched on only after the advertiser wrote about it in public.
  • Porter has no rollout flag. Connect the same Meta account, paste the Porter MCP URL, and ask for the account that Meta’s connector could not reach.

Meta launched the connectors in open beta and they are still in it as of September 2026. What they cost after the beta has not been announced.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an MCP for Meta Ads?

More than one. Meta ships its own, called Meta Ads AI connectors, and Porter’s is at https://mcp.portermetrics.com/mcp. Both are free, both use the official Marketing API, and the difference is what happens after the reporting.

What is the MCP server URL for Meta Ads?

Porter’s is https://mcp.portermetrics.com/mcp. Meta’s own is mcp.facebook.com/ads. Paste either into your AI client as a custom connector.

Does Meta have an official MCP?

Yes. Meta launched Ads AI connectors in open beta and they are still in it. Meta only, one ad account per request, and access is granted account by account.

How do I enable MCP in Meta Ads?

You cannot enable it yourself. is_ads_mcp_enabled is a flag Meta sets on its side, with no setting and no form to request it. Porter connects through its own reviewed Meta app, so there is no flag to wait for.

What is MCP in Facebook ads? Is MCP an agent?

MCP is the Model Context Protocol, the way an AI client talks to a tool it does not own. It is not the agent. Claude and ChatGPT are the agents; MCP is how they reach your ad accounts.

How do I connect Claude to Meta Ads?

Install the Porter plugin from Claude Settings, Customize, Plugins. Add the portermetrics/porter marketplace, install Porter Metrics from the Directory, connect the Porter connector, and ask Claude for Meta Ads data, creative analysis, or a campaign draft. Use manual MCP setup only when Claude asks for a custom connector.

Is the Meta Ads API free?

Meta does not charge for API access. What costs money is the tool you use to reach it. Porter has a free Meta Ads MCP plan with unlimited ad accounts. Paid plans apply when you add reporting connectors or automation usage beyond the free MCP workflow.
