COMMON ISSUES

Common HubSpot connector issues

Quick fixes for the most common HubSpot + Data Studio problems.

IssueSolution
My HubSpot data is not showing up in Data StudioVerify that your Porter data source is connected and the refresh schedule is active. Check that the correct HubSpot account was authorized during OAuth, especially if you manage multiple portals.
Deal Amount or Closed Won totals look wrongConfirm your Data Studio date range matches the Deal Close Date or Deal Create Date you are reporting on. HubSpot stores amounts in the portal currency; make sure Data Studio is not applying an extra conversion.
Email Open Rate is higher than expectedEmail Open Rate in Porter is calculated as unique opens divided by delivered emails. If you are summing raw open events instead of using the pre-calculated metric, you will double-count. Use the Email Open Rate metric directly.
Custom properties are missing from the field listPorter surfaces standard HubSpot fields. If a custom property is not visible, check whether it is populated on at least one record; empty custom properties may be omitted from the schema.
Dashboard refresh is slow or times outLarge HubSpot portals with millions of contacts can exceed Data Studio’s default row limits. Filter by date range or segment in Porter before sending data to Data Studio, or switch to a scheduled extract instead of live queries.
Contact counts differ between HubSpot and Data StudioHubSpot’s native reporting filters out deleted and unsubscribed contacts by default. Porter includes all records. Add a filter in Data Studio for Contact Lifecycle Stage is not empty to align the numbers.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can HubSpot connect to Data Studio?
Yes. Porter Metrics offers a free HubSpot Data Studio connector that links your HubSpot CRM, marketing, and sales data to Google Data Studio without SQL or middleware.
Why did Google not buy HubSpot?
Google and HubSpot are independent companies. Google focuses on cloud, search, and advertising infrastructure, while HubSpot specializes in CRM and inbound marketing software. The two platforms integrate through third-party connectors like Porter instead of a single acquisition.
How to connect data to Data Studio?
With Porter, you authorize HubSpot via OAuth, select the objects and metrics you want, and Porter creates a native Data Studio data source. Your fields appear immediately as dimensions and metrics ready for charting.
Who is HubSpot’s biggest competitor?
Salesforce is HubSpot’s largest competitor in the CRM space. Other competitors include Zoho CRM, Pipedrive, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. Porter supports connecting multiple CRM and marketing platforms to Data Studio, so you can compare data across tools.
How often does HubSpot data sync to Data Studio?
Porter refreshes HubSpot data on a schedule you set, or on demand. Your Data Studio dashboards update automatically when the underlying Porter data source refreshes.
Is there a free HubSpot Data Studio connector?
Yes. Porter offers a free trial that includes full access to the HubSpot Data Studio connector, 510 fields, and pre-built templates. You can build and share dashboards before committing to a paid plan.
Can I report on custom HubSpot objects in Data Studio?
Porter surfaces standard HubSpot objects and properties. Custom objects and properties may be available depending on your HubSpot plan and whether the properties are populated. Contact support if you need a specific custom object mapped.
Why are my HubSpot numbers different in Data Studio?
Differences usually come from date range mismatches, deleted records, currency conversions, or using raw events instead of pre-calculated metrics. Use Porter’s derived metrics like Email Open Rate and Deal Closed Won Amount to keep calculations consistent.
