Run your Facebook Page from your favorite AI chat

Porter Metrics connects your Facebook Page to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI clients through one Facebook MCP server. MCP is the Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI apps use to reach other tools. Ask which posts earned shares, schedule Friday’s post or answer last night’s comments, all from the chat.

Porter covers four Page jobs: analytics, publishing, comments and the inbox, plus research on public Pages. The Claude-only setup has its own page, the Facebook Insights connector for Claude.

Analytics

  • Top posts: ranked by Post engagements, Post reactions, Post shares and Post Clicks, so you see what people acted on.
  • Reels and videos: Reel views and Reel post video avg time watched next to Post average time video viewed for regular videos.
  • Followers: Page new followers and Page new unfollows by week, with the net change and Page total followers.
  • Views and viewers: Page total impressions and Total reach, the numbers Business Suite now calls Views and Viewers.
  • How people feel: Post actions: Love, Post actions: Like and Post actions: Anger for every post, plus the first comments.
  • Reviews: Review rating, Review text and Review created date for every recommendation your Page gets.

Every metric and dimension is in the Facebook Insights fields list. For a ready-made view, open the free Facebook Insights dashboard templates.

Publishing

  • Text, link and photo posts: Claude prepares the post, and Porter publishes it once you approve.
  • Scheduled posts: pick the day and hour, and Facebook publishes it then. Claude can also list what’s already scheduled.
  • Photos and videos: upload a file from your computer or a public link, then attach it to a post.
  • Edits: change the text of a published post or hide it from your Page.

Comments and inbox

  • Read: every comment on a post, newest or oldest first.
  • Reply: answers drafted in the chat and posted as your Page after you say yes.
  • Hide or unhide: spam and off-topic comments, without deleting the thread.
  • Delete: comments, once you confirm, and edit the ones your Page wrote.
  • Inbox: read Page conversations and reply inside Meta’s 24-hour window, when your connection includes messaging.

Research

  • Competitor Pages: followers, posts and engagement per post for any public Page, through the Facebook Public Data connector for Claude.
  • Benchmarks: your reactions, comments and shares per post next to the Pages you watch.
  • Page search: find a public Page by name or keyword, then compare it.

What stays in Facebook

  • Reels and Stories publishing: you post them from Facebook or Business Suite as usual. Porter still reads your Reels and their results.
  • Boosts and ads: you boost posts in Facebook. Paid campaigns go through the Meta Ads MCP.
  • Page settings: you change roles, About details and buttons in Facebook.
  • Personal profiles and Groups: Porter works with Facebook Pages you manage.
  • Marketplace: listings and buyers live in Facebook’s Marketplace tab.

Security and trust

Safety and security

Porter’s Facebook MCP reads first, works through Meta’s official Graph API and asks before anything appears on your Page. Reporting, publishing, comment replies and inbox messages are separate actions. An AI client working through Porter never needs your Facebook password or a Page token, and nothing posts until you approve it.

Reporting first

Ask about posts, Reels, followers and reviews without writing anything back. A report can’t publish a post or touch a comment.

Reporting priced per account

Reporting is billed per connected Facebook Page. One more question about the same Page adds nothing to the bill.

Official API, no Page token

Porter connects through Meta’s Graph API with Facebook Login and resolves each Page’s access itself. You never copy a token from Graph API Explorer or paste it into a config file.

Permissions you can see

Reports use read_insights and pages_read_engagement. Publishing, comments and the inbox add pages_manage_posts, pages_manage_engagement and pages_messaging, as Meta’s permissions reference describes. You grant them on Meta’s consent screen, Page by Page.

Posts and replies after you approve

Claude shows you the post, the time it goes out or the reply first. Porter publishes it only after you say yes.

Inbox replies inside Meta’s window

Page inbox replies go out within 24 hours of the person’s last message, the window Meta allows for standard replies. Claude shows each message before it sends.

Permanent actions flagged

Publishing a post, deleting a post, posting a comment or reply, deleting a comment and sending an inbox message can’t be undone through the API. Claude asks before each one, so hide rather than delete when you might want it back.

Revoke access anytime

Disconnect Porter from your connection settings, or remove it in Facebook under Business Integrations. Access lives in your approved Meta connection, never in a token file on someone’s laptop.

Setup

How to set up the Facebook MCP server

Porter’s Facebook MCP uses the same server URL in every AI client, and each client has its own place to paste it. Claude takes it as a plugin or a custom connector. ChatGPT takes it through the Porter Metrics app or developer mode, and both reach the same Facebook Pages.

https://mcp.portermetrics.com/mcp

What you need

  • A Facebook profile that manages the Page: the person who connects needs a Page role that can view insights.
  • A Page with 100+ likes for insights: smaller Pages still connect for posting and comments.
  • Permissions on Meta’s consent screen: tick each Page Claude should reach.

Guides and videos

Porter’s short connects a Facebook Page to Claude without code and asks the first question. The same server URL works in ChatGPT.

Start with this question once you’re connected:

For my Facebook Page, show Page new followers, Page new unfollows, Page Engagements and Page views by Week for the last 4 full weeks.
Prompts

Facebook MCP prompts

Each Facebook skill in Porter’s MCP is a ready-made prompt for one Page job. A skill turns live Page data into a report, a competitor read, a post waiting for your approval or a cleaner comment section. Copy a prompt into Claude or ChatGPT and change the dates, Pages or wording to match yours.

Reporting skills

Connection test

List the Facebook Pages I’ve connected, then show Page total followers and Page Engagements for each over the last 7 days.

Top posts

For posts published last month, show Post Date, Post type, the first 80 characters of Post message, Post engagements, Post reactions, Post Comments Count, Post shares and Post Clicks. Rank by Post engagements and tell me what the top 5 have in common.

Reels vs videos

List my Reels from the last 60 days with Reel description, Reel length, Reel views and Reel post video avg time watched. Then list video posts from the same period with Post message and Post average time video viewed. Which format holds attention better?

Follower swings

For the last 12 full weeks, show Page new followers and Page new unfollows by Week with net growth, and today’s Page total followers. Flag any week where unfollows jumped and list that week’s posts.

Angry reactions

Who this is for

Who this is for

Social media marketers who run a Facebook Page, not only report on it, get the most from Porter’s Facebook MCP. Agencies, in-house social managers, local and small business founders and analysts use it to turn a Page question into a report, a scheduled post or a cleaner comment section.

Social media teams who post as well as report.

Social media agencies

Your client isn’t asking about reach. They’re asking whether the Page brings people in.

  • Every client Page: one prompt covers each Page you manage, with Page name as a column.
  • Client reports: the monthly Page report is ready before the call.
  • Comment rounds: replies drafted for every client, posted after review.
  • Competitor reads: the client’s rivals, compared on the same numbers.

In-house social media managers

  • Format decisions: Reels, videos, photos or links, chosen on engagement and watch time.
  • Posting from the chat: next week’s posts scheduled without opening Business Suite.
  • Follower swings: the week unfollows jumped, and the post behind it.
  • Leadership updates: one link that’s current when they open it.

Local and small business founders

  • Ten-minute check-in: what grew this week and what to post next.
  • Reviews read for you: the two complaints customers repeat, in one answer.
  • Messages answered: inbox replies drafted while they’re still inside Meta’s window.
  • One login: your Page next to your Instagram, site and ads.

Analysts

  • Field-level access: 240+ Page fields, with Meta’s metric changes already handled.
  • Daily history: paid plans store total and new followers every day from the day you start paying.
  • Warehouse destinations: Page data in BigQuery as rows you can query.
  • Blends: Facebook next to Instagram and Meta Ads in one table.

When to use another tool instead

You need a calendar that posts Reels and Stories across many networks. A posting scheduler does that job, and Porter covers analytics, posts, comments and the inbox.

Comparison

Facebook MCP options vs. Porter

Facebook MCP servers for Pages come in two shapes: a self-hosted server you run with your own Page token, or a hosted MCP like Porter’s. Both connect a Facebook Page to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI clients through Meta’s Graph API. Porter hosts the server, handles the Meta connection and adds your other channels, reporting and skills.

A self-hosted server gives your AI the Pages API. Porter gives it your Page plus the rest of your marketing, already set up.

Both read insights, publish posts and manage comments through Meta’s official API. Here is where they part.

PorterTypical self-hosted Facebook Page MCP

Is there an official Facebook MCP?

Meta runs three official MCP servers, and Meta’s MCP documentation lists them as Meta Ads MCP, Meta Social Technologies MCP for developers and WhatsApp Business Tools MCP (as of November 2026). Meta’s Ads MCP server docs describe a server that “lets you manage Meta ads directly from an AI agent.” For your Page’s organic posts, comments and insights, Porter’s Facebook MCP works on Meta’s official Graph API.

And the third-party Facebook MCPs?

Plenty of them rank for this search, and they split by job. Name the job first and the list gets short.

  • Ads servers: they report on and change Meta ad campaigns, not Page posts.
  • Publishing schedulers: they queue posts across networks, usually without Page analytics.
  • Open-source Page servers: free and self-hosted, with your own Meta app and Page token.
  • Public data scrapers: they read public Pages and Marketplace, not your Page’s insights.

Porter covers Page analytics, posts, comments and the inbox from one hosted server, starting on the free plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an official Facebook MCP?

Meta's official MCP servers cover ads, developer apps and WhatsApp, not organic Page posts. Porter's Facebook MCP runs at https://mcp.portermetrics.com/mcp on Meta's official Graph API. It reads Page insights, publishes and schedules posts after approval and manages comments.

What is the Facebook MCP server URL?

Porter's Facebook MCP server URL is https://mcp.portermetrics.com/mcp. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or another AI client as a custom connector, then sign in with Facebook. Meta's ads server sits at mcp.facebook.com/ads and covers ad accounts.

Is the Facebook MCP free?

Porter's Facebook MCP is included in every Porter plan, the free-forever plan too. The free plan covers unlimited connected accounts, up to 30 days of history, 15 days in AI chats and 100 automation credits a month. Paid Reporting starts at $12.50 a month per data source account, billed annually.

Can it post to my personal profile or a Group?

Porter posts to the Facebook Pages you manage, through Meta's Pages API. You post to your personal profile and to Groups in Facebook as usual.

Can it schedule Facebook posts?

Yes. Claude prepares a text, link or photo post with a date and time, and Porter schedules it on your Page once you approve. Claude can also list the posts already scheduled.

Can it answer Messenger messages?

Yes, when your connection includes the messaging permission. Claude lists Page inbox conversations, drafts replies and sends the ones you approve within 24 hours of the person's last message.

Can I connect several Facebook Pages?

Yes. Tick every Page you manage on Meta's consent screen, and Claude compares them in one answer with Page name as a column. Each Page is billed as one data source account, and the free plan connects unlimited accounts.

Can it look at competitors' Pages?

Yes. Porter reads public Facebook Pages, including followers, recent posts and reactions, comments and shares per post. Ask Claude to compare your Page with two or three competitors on the same numbers.

How do I connect Claude to Facebook?

Install the Porter plugin from Claude Settings → Customize → Plugins. Add the portermetrics/porter marketplace, install Porter Metrics from the Directory, connect it and sign in with Facebook. Then ask Claude for your top posts.

What is MCP?

MCP is the Model Context Protocol, an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems like Facebook. Claude and ChatGPT are the agents, and Porter's MCP is how they reach your Facebook Page.

Troubleshooting

Why don't the numbers match Business Suite?

Compare the same names first: Business Suite says Views and Viewers where Porter's fields say Page total impressions and Total reach. Porter refreshes Page data once a day, and Meta updates most metrics every 24 hours, so the latest day is partial. A calendar month of viewers comes back as Meta's 28-day window.

Why does a metric come back as 0 or fail?

Swap the field for followers, views or viewers. Meta retired Page fans, engaged users and several organic splits, so those fields return 0 or an error for recent dates. Check the date range too, since posts are picked by the day they went out.

Why can't I see insights for my Page?

Connect a Page rather than a personal profile, and check the Page has 100 or more likes, the threshold Meta sets for insights. The person connecting also needs a Page role that can view insights. Posting and comments still work on smaller Pages.
