Is there an official Flexport MCP?
Yes. Flexport MCP runs at https://mcp.flexport.com/mcp and covers freight: tracking shipments, searching rates and booking. Porter’s Flexport MCP runs at https://mcp.portermetrics.com/mcp and covers e-commerce fulfillment: orders, parcels, inventory and returns. You can connect both in Claude.
What is the Flexport MCP server URL?
Porter’s Flexport MCP server URL is https://mcp.portermetrics.com/mcp for fulfillment data. Flexport’s own freight server uses https://mcp.flexport.com/mcp. Paste either into Claude, ChatGPT or another AI client as a custom connector. Porter’s URL also reaches your Shopify and Amazon accounts.
Is the Flexport MCP free?
Porter’s Flexport MCP is included in every Porter plan, the free-forever plan too. The free plan covers unlimited connected accounts, up to 30 days of history, 15 days in AI chats and 100 automation credits a month. Paid Reporting starts at $12.50 a month per data source account, billed annually, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
Can it cancel or change my Flexport orders?
Porter reads orders, parcels, inventory, inbounds and returns, and you change them in the Seller Portal as usual. The token only needs read-only scopes, so your orders stay exactly as they are. Claude still tells you what to fix, such as which orders need manual intervention, with the Seller Portal link.
Does it work with an account that started on Deliverr?
Yes. Flexport’s Logistics API replaced the Deliverr API, and Porter reads through the Logistics API, so a Seller Portal account that began on Deliverr works. When you migrate, create a new Logistics API token, as Flexport asks.
Can Claude track my ocean or air freight through Porter?
Porter reads e-commerce fulfillment from the Logistics API, so containers, air cargo, customs and freight bookings aren’t part of it. For those, connect Flexport MCP in the same Claude account. Claude can then answer a freight question with Flexport’s server and a fulfillment question with Porter’s.
How do I connect Claude to Flexport?
Create a read-only API token in the Seller Portal, then install the Porter plugin from Claude Settings → Customize → Plugins. Add the portermetrics/porter marketplace, install Porter Metrics from the Directory and paste the token in Porter when the connector asks. Then ask Claude for stuck orders.
What is MCP? Is MCP an agent?
MCP is the Model Context Protocol, an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems like Flexport. MCP isn’t the agent. Claude and ChatGPT are the agents, and Porter’s MCP is how they reach your Flexport fulfillment data.
Troubleshooting
Why don’t the numbers match the Seller Portal?
Split orders are the usual reason: one marketplace order can become several Flexport orders sharing one Marketplace Order Reference. Portal reports also use the time zone you pick, and carriers time a scan before Flexport records it. Compare by Marketplace Order Reference and by day.
Why does Claude say a permission is missing?
Create a token that includes the read scope for that data, then paste it in Porter. A 403 error means the token lacks that scope. A 401 means the token expired, after one year by default, or an admin revoked it, so create a new one.
Why does Claude find no parcels or returns?
Check your Flexport account access first. Parcels and returns need account approval from Flexport, and orders and inbounds need a billing account. A sandbox account holds no parcels or returns, so test those questions on a live account.
