How fresh is the data? Is it real time?

Amazon SP-API serves live data, but actual freshness depends on endpoint-specific throttling and caching. Porter MCP pulls live within the API’s rate limits, so data is typically current to within minutes for orders and up to an hour for cached catalog metadata.

Are there rate limits for Amazon Seller data?

Yes. Amazon enforces per-endpoint token-bucket limits: Orders API searchOrders at 0.0056 requests/second (burst 20), getOrder at 0.5/second (burst 30), and Catalog Items API at 2/second per account-application pairing. Why do Claude’s numbers sometimes differ from Seller Central?

Three common reasons: (1) Time zone rendering — Seller Central may display local time while the API returns UTC, shifting daily totals. (2) Refresh lag — the API can trail the dashboard by minutes during high-traffic events like Prime Day. (3) Status filtering — the API and dashboard may default to different order status sets (e.g., pending vs. shipped only). The fix: align date ranges, time zones, and status filters in your query.

Will using Claude affect my Amazon Seller access or limits?
